blogging about blogging

Just a quick update of what was accomplished during our recent meeting:

After looking at a list of educational blogging websites, we chose one site and found an elementary English school teacher’s blog. It was located somewhere in South America and it was highly impressive. We created a table using Lankshear and Noble’s guide to characterizing educational blogs and also created our own table using criteria that we felt was relevant to the evaluation or analysis of an educational blog. For the categories that require averages of certain data we decided to select from a sample of 20. For example, for the average length of posts, we will choose 20 of the most recent posts and track each individual posts length (line by line) and determine the average. We will also track how many posts are being written each week. See: Blog table
